day 43-CST

I'm typing this on David's phone so I'll keep it short. The workout today felt great. After missing so much it was nice to get back in the groove of things. Always a stress reliever too which I needed after work today. It was BUSY! David will probably start his job Friday or next monday. It will be good for him to get out of the house. Haven't been on here in awhile with starting work last week. Obviously we restarted the week. Not looking forward to plyometrics but I am looking forward to back & biceps in a couple days.

Days 40, 41 & 42- Legs/Back, Kenpo, Rest

What a weekend/Monday. I confess, I skipped legs and back. However, before anyone gets on my case... I spent the entire day lifting boxes and going up and down stairs. I think that still counts. We waited to do Kenpo until we got to my parents' last night. We left around noon for their house and hadn't gone very far when we hit a detour due to a bad traffic accident. It took us an extra hour to get here! We did Kenpo a little bit later and it felt great. It grows on me more each week.

Obviously, today is rest day. I started my new job today and I really like it. It's only one day, but it feels like something I will enjoy and the people are great. My new boss took me to lunch. Tempted by Mexican food, I still got a salad! You can read David's blog to learn about the dilemma of getting a place to live. I know he's upset about being unemployed right now, but it will all work out soon. This is just our path in life. I was meant to get a job first out here and his will follow. Besides, it gives him time to learn the area and get our new home established. I love my husband.

We have to go really far to sign our lease tomorrow. Who knows what time we'll get to work out! My family seemed to like the meatloaf tonight. A couple more nights and it will just be David and me again. It seems odd, but I'm excited to be there again. I'm excited about our life together.

Days 38 & 39, bb & yoga

Thank goodness for Yoga today. What a stressful whirlwind of events these last few days! It was unfortunately very hard to concentrate on Yoga because both our minds were just racing. But I think Yoga still helps a little, just not as much. Of the weight lifting exercises, legs and back is probably my least favorite, so I'm not quite as excited for tomorrow. Yesterday's back and biceps was great! It felt so great to let out that stress and just focus on the exercise.

We're moving in 2 days and we don't even have a place yet! We put in an app & are still waiting to hear back from them. As difficult as it may be, we're going to crash in my parents' basement until we get things sorted out. Then, I start my job in 3 days. I think I'll really enjoy the work. And it will be so much more laid back than previous jobs. Not that it won't be stressful at times, but just a more positive work environment. I've been packing and waiting. That's it.

Ready for Kenpo already. Wish it was Saturday..

Days 36 and 37- CST and Plyo X

Plyo was killer today. My knees have been bothering me alot today and I really struggled with all the jumps. We always do the modified moves anyway because we both have knee problems, but even those were tough. It's kind of disappointing because I don't feel like I got the same workout I did last week, but I am well aware of my body's limitations. Ready to be back home tomorrow. It will be much easier to do the workout.

So many good things to report today. First of all, I got a job offer today and accepted. Bad news, I start Monday and we don't have a place to live yet! We looked at some houses around where I work and a little bit north of that. We've narrowed it down to two, but can't decide between them. Thankfully, we're just leasing but it is stressful. All our stuff is in storage at David's sister's house.

The other really good news of the day has to do with clothes. At this new job, I can wear jeans. However, I have one pair of jeans that fits and with P90X, they're getting loose. So, my mom offered to buy me a pair of jeans. We went to Penney's first and I tried on so many pairs with no luck. Then we went to Kohls and found a pair. They are the same brand (Levis) but a different style. And they are the next size down. Not only that, but I tried on two sizes down. They were a little tight but I could button them! It is silly, but that's so exciting to me! It is really a great motivator to keep this up.

The next few days will be hectic as we try to get a place to live and get moved. Have a feeling I'll be in my mom's basement for a few days. Looking forward to a new start for us.

Days 33, 34, & 35- legs/back, kenpo, rest

Woo hoo Kenpo yesterday. It felt awesome. I really didn't like kenpo at first but it's starting to grow on me. I'm still unbelievably uncoordinated, but it's improving some. We debated swapping tomorrow's workout with today, but decided against it. We need some rest time! I'm actually looking forward to tomorrow's workout though.

Today is David's sister's birthday so a bunch of us went out to lunch yesterday to celebrate. They picked Ryan's (a buffet) and I have to say I was disappointed. Everything was cooked in so much oil and the steaks were mostly fat. David thought he'd be able to find a grilled chicken breast, and he did. However, the pan it was in had a thick layer of oil on the bottom. So, we decided on spinach salads and I got some broccoli. Boy was that a mistake! The spinach tasted like saltwater and the broccoli wasn't fresh. It was by far the biggest waste of $10 a person I've ever experienced. I don't write about this to hurt anyone's feelings, I just expected more, even though it was a buffet.

Tomorrow is my interview so we'll be heading out in the morning. Thanks Jeremy and Christina for the well wishes!

Hope everyone had a good Easter and has a great week!

Days 31 & 32, I think. B&B, Yoga X

Yesterday was hard. I pulled something in my neck the previous night and made it through almost all of back & biceps before I just couldn't do anymore. But I feel like I really gave the workout everything I had until that point. I was worried today with Yoga because my neck is still hurting, although not as badly. It went okay though. I feel like I didn't quite push as hard as usual, but I was still able to do almost everything. I hope that Yoga is something I can maintain throughout life. David and I want to have children and I think Yoga could be a lifelong commitment, even during pregnancy. I'm still very sore from Plyo and I am dreading more legwork tomorrow. But as Tony always says, and David always reminds me, do your best & forget the rest.

Today was a somewhat productive day. We went to the natural food store and the international food store in Como. We found some low-fat greek yogurt flavored with honey. It's pretty good for you, at least more so than regular yogurt from the supermarket and it's delicious. We also went to the bookstore and spent awhile in their section on dogs. I think we've decided on a Lab for our first dog. They're supposed to be a good first dog and since we haven't had dogs since childhood.... It will still be awhile before we can start looking for one to adopt, but we want to be well-read before the fact.

That's about it. We're going to have a very low-key evening tonight. It's the first night since our wedding night that we'll be completely alone. We need some "us" time.

Thanks Christina for always leaving encouraging comments. They really do help.

Day 30- Plyo X Mini-Post

Plyo is done. As usual, I pushed harder than last time we did plyo and I am EXHAUSTED. David is crazy and did it twice. He doesn't listen to me, so I let him do it, but I wish he would have just rested the 2nd time instead. Haven't been very hungry today and I know I didn't get in all my proteins. I can't force feed myself the remaining proteins though.

The interview went well, at least I think. So well that I already have a 2nd interview scheduled for next week.

FINALLY. I hope it works out. It feels like things are finally starting to look up for David and me.

And oh yeah, the meatloaf was great. I'm not a huge fan of ground turkey, but it was delicious. I definitely recommend it.
